Mark is a Chartered Engineer with significant experience of working at Director and Partner level on projects ranging from minor surveys to multi-million pound developments including office blocks, shopping centres, retail fit-outs, airport facilities, hospitals and various leisure projects.

Mark firmly believes in operating in partnership with the client to deliver and refine services to achieve ongoing efficiency and innovation driven savings. He has well developed people management skills and sharp commercial business acumen along with a good capability in financial control.

Mark has extensive experience of design consultancy, facilities management consultancy and portfolio management including the design and implementation of associated refurbishment and relocation projects. In the field of commercial developments and shopping centres, Mark has been directly involved in the engineering services design for Meadowhall in Sheffield, The Peacocks in Woking and many office and mixed use developments. In the area of Facilities Management, specific other direct clients have included Centrica, One 2 One, the AA, British Airways, the Benefits Agency, Inland Revenue, the Ministry of Defence’s Whitehall Estate, and P&O Shopping Centres.

Mark was instrumental in the design of the commercial and service solution and led the mobilisation of a £15m p.a. Telewest outsourcing contract over 200 properties across the UK ranging from high-quality HQ properties, call centres, and a range of business critical properties including the network control centre. This role involving managing the TUPE transfer of c.300 staff; the re-procurement of a wide range of supply chain services; and the management of a service improvement plan covering: engineering, cleaning, catering, vending, reception, couriers and post room.

Mark was also directly responsible for securing and mobilising a £20m p.a. contract for Centrica, managing a successful re-procurement of all the service delivery contractors to achieve 20% saving on previous spend. The subsequent integration of the AA portfolio into the contract was successfully achieved with a similar level of cost saving to the client, linked to higher quality service delivery.

In his spare time, Mark, is a keen sub aqua diver, although he admits he is a fair weather diver, preferring the warmer waters and higher visibility of coral reefs, to the cold waters of the British coast. Mark has recently started sailing, and is undertaking the Royal Yachting Association course to achieve his day skipper qualification. When not engaging in activities above or below the water line, Mark enjoys relaxing in the sun at his property in Spain. Mark has a 17 year old son who is currently studying for his A levels.
