Nigel Hambly

Nigel is a Director of Asset Factor Infrastructure Services, having joined the team from an immediately prior role as Managing Director of Emcor and before that as Chief Executive of Shell Industrial Services, a global support service role.

Nigel has a heavy engineering background which he initially gained in marine engineering before broadening into the industrial, transport and commercial sectors - where he has majored on the delivery of long-term value creation through operational efficiency and business sustainability. His background has provided him with a comprehensive and balanced appreciation of the critical operational techniques needed to meet customer demands and technical challenges whilst being cognisant of the macro economic drivers that major building owners and occupiers face today.

Nigel is highly focused on the application of appropriate business systems and processes to maximise operational control and derive clear business knowledge by which informed executive decisions can be competently made. He is financially and commercially astute with previous direct responsibility for the performance of businesses with revenue streams in excess of several hundred millions of pounds.

For Shell, Nigel designed and implemented a new global business providing integrated industrial and production asset management solutions to its process and manufacturing major customer base in 17 countries. This business combined Shell’s intellectual property rights, technical expertise, brand and geographic operational capability in energy; process / manufacturing asset maintenance; environmental solutions; facilities management; hydrocarbon management and pace setting and process efficiency solutions. The focus was on 9 principal industry sectors where asset performance was critically associated with high production downtime risk and costs.

Nigel is a passionate exponent of attentive customer relationship management and he possesses excellent communication and behavioural skills that are needed to communicate effectively at senior board levels and equally with the general users of a company’s facilities and services.

Nigel is a consummate team player with a track record of building highly motivated and efficient teams through application of respect, humanity and strong leadership skills. He has had responsibility for managing businesses with in excess of 4,000 employees across multiple geographies and diverse cultural backgrounds.
